Orbea Occam
The main pivot on the OCCAM is located on the seat tube above the bottom bracket using oversized sealed cartridge bearings. This location provides for efficient pedaling when climbing and sprinting while providing 105mm of beautiful plushness when descending. All this is mated with Fox's new RP23 shock with CTD (climb, trail, descend) damping to provide instant tuning at the flip of a switch.
Adding to the sophisticated simplicity of the OCCAM design is the concentric pivot at the rear axle. The result, a fully active suspension under braking without any of the flex and slop that is found in four bar suspension systems. What does that mean to you, simple, you can dive deeper into the corners and brake later knowing that the rear end will stay firmly planted on the ground without brake stutter.

Since it’s a matched group, from the shifters to the cassette and chain, you can be sure to have optimum performance. One highlight is the XTR Shadow Plus rear derailleur. It’s ready for tough trails. It’s ready to race. We build the Occam 29 M30 frame with our Orbea Performance carbon fiber to ensure a just-right blend of strength, stiffness, and light weight. It’s a fast roller that loves rocky trails, and the benefits of the big wheels make it perfect for long distance XC riding and racing. We outfit the M30 with a hybrid component kit composed of Shimano SLX shifters and brakes along with XT cranks and derailleurs. We match the Fox RP23 rear shock with a handlebar-mounted lockout to minimize front suspension movement when climbing out of the saddle.
